Trans people were being refused service at barbershops across the country. So we created a movement that would turn these places into safe spaces.
Using the colors of the trans flag, we transformed the iconic barber pole into an inclusive symbol shop owners can put in their windows to show all are welcome. Then, we went global with the world’s first online registry of trans-friendly hair spaces on Google Maps.
